Douglas Wyatt is an amateur photographer with a passion for capturing vibrant street life and local scenes, showcasing many other types of pictures on his website. Since the mid-80s, he has used various cameras, appreciating their diversity and often opting for vintage lenses. Winning competitions and publishing his photos has fueled his enthusiasm, although he considers himself an amateur. Photography provides him with relaxation and a creative outlet. Based in historical Colchester, he encourages others to use their imagination and enjoy their photography journeys, emphasising that the photographer, not the camera, creates great images.
I am a Colchester Essex based photographer who really enjoys capturing the landscapes and scenes around me. I love this area and consider myself really fortunate to be living here and be able to take the images that I do. Being on the doorstep of Constable Country has given me inspiration for light, landscape and land. I am also very lucky to be near to the coast and again have the fortune to have such a rich and diverse landscape on my doorstep.
